Inception Meeting In Gulu City

Anyira Teenage Rescue Foundation conducted an Inception meeting in Gulu city on the 9th December 2024 to Present and share the goals, objectives and approach of the project, Meet the Stakeholders of the city and forge collaboration to understand project goals, scope, and potential risks to achieve the project outcomes, Meet other partners implementing projects with similar goals and objectives; with the hope to align on priorities.

The inception meeting was attended by representatives from; the NGO monitoring team of Gulu city, the political wing of the city, the community development department, the education department, the probation office, the department of Gender, the health department, and Partners (NGO’s) doing interventions that align with the goals and objectives of Anyira Teenage Rescue Foundation.

The Office of the Resident City Commissioner and the city Clerk highlighted their support in helping fight against teenage pregnancies and pledged support to Anyira Teenage Rescue Foundation in helping bridge the prevailing gaps like; Inadequate sensitization to the community (especially the parents to these young people, the increasing number of teenage sex workers in Gulu city, and Gender based violence.

All the Stakeholders and their representatives welcomed the the initiative to the region and pledged to play their part in helping better the access to sexual and reproductive health services to the young people in the region in an effort to combat teenage pregnancy rates in acholi sub-region.
